Celebrate Finnish Nature Day at the opening of the new Jäkälälampi Nature Trail in the Valkealampi area of Lehtimäki, Alajärvi, on Saturday 29 August 2026.
The event starts at 11:00 at the Valkealampi parking area, Valkealammentie 200, 63510 Alajärvi. Participants will walk the approximately three-kilometre Jäkälälampi Nature Trail together, guided by Vilma Knibbs, Executive Director of Impact Crater Lake Lappajärvi UNESCO Global Geopark.
The trail passes through varied but fairly even terrain and is suitable for families with children and other nature enthusiasts. The terrain may be wet in places, so please wear suitable footwear.
After the walk, campfire coffee, juice and sweet buns will be served at the Valkealampi campfire site from approximately 13:00 onwards. Participants are encouraged to bring their own outdoor mug and may also bring their own snacks to enjoy by the fire.
